I just read this on Apartment Therapy and I've got two words: I want. Especially the rug below. Love it!!

Vroom Vroom

So my sister's car is in the shop and since I was the only who could pick up the rental, it's mine for the week. They were going to give me a Dodge Calibur, as that's what the insurance company paid for but the tires were under-inflated so they gave me a free upgrade: an Infinity G37 sedan. Vroom, vroom baby! It's a sweet little ride and accelerates like a dream! It was so smooth, so easy to get to 60 that it caused a little adrenaline rush. Who says cars were only toys for boys??

It's Official!!

It's official: Dem and I have a new apartment!! We just signed our lease today and all we have to do now is move in, which is, of course, easier said than done. She already moved some boxes and clothes in today and some of my boxes are heading over tomorrow. We plan on spending our first night there next weekend and we are so excited!

I was going to take pictures of the empty apartment today but forgot in all the excitement, so I'll just have to make do with a floor plan of the place.

And in case anyone's wondering, I'm taking the bigger bedroom with the walk-in closet because my bed's bigger than hers.

Phew, It's Finally A New Year!

So this here blog has been having a dry spell. We all get those, right? The past month has been a bit tumultuous and so much has happened all at once, I feel like someone's been using my head as a kickball and I just finally got it back and screwed on right.

The holidays roll around and everything goes into mad chaos; my normal routine goes haywire. Then we had that massive snow storm that pretty much shut down the city for a week; mild, misty Seattle and surrounding areas get 8-24+ inches of snow! What the #@!%?? Having a white Christmas was nice but any more of that and I was going to resort to drastic actions. After we finally recovered from white powder overdose, Raven came to visit, which was fantastic. We were back on the Ceroc dance floor again, if only for a night, after a 2-year absence! It was awesome. After a week of fun, I went straight back into work and am just finally catching up with the mountain of work that piled up while I away.

Then Dem's grandmother's house sold while I was on holiday that week - causing me to lose a little sleep actually - and so after Raven left, we hunkered down, crunched some numbers and decided to find an apartment together. WOO!! And guess who got a freakin' bad ass deal on a massive apartment?? That's right, yours truly found a 1200+ SF, double master suite flat a stone's throw away from city center (where I work). I can walk to the local farmer's market, the supermarket, Bellevue Square (although my spending is going to be drastically curbed, of course) and I could even walk to work if I wanted to (I plan on getting a bike and biking to work). Dem's hoping to move in this weekend and I'll probably be moved in by next weekend, seeing as how it's Chinese New Year this weekend and who knows how much I can get done. We are TOO EXCITED!! Pictures coming later.
