Birthday!!!

First it was Heather's birthday over the weekend, with our annual trek up to Blaine to her parents' timeshare condo. FUN! Pictures coming soon.

Next, it's my birthday. TODAY. So far it's been a fantastic birthday. Yesterday, Georgia and I went to Deyss Salon and Spa for a long overdue pedicure. My toes are now a gorgeous shade of hot pink (my usual: OPI's It's All Greek To Me) Russ took me out to dinner: Maggiano's Little Italy! We had calamari fritte, yummy lobster ravioli and tiramisu. The tiramisu is absolutely to die for; it was the reason I wanted to go there! It's also huge so we shared that as well.

As for today's plans...my boss took me out for a birthday lunch, I have dinner with family and later, my friends and I are going to The Parlor for happy hour drinks and food and to shoot some pool. We might go to the club as well later... Can you imagine me hungover and tired as hell on my flight tomorrow? Ha! Oh yeah, did I mention my birthday present to myself is a trip to Europe?! I fly tomorrow and I'll be there for 5 days (plus 2 days of traveling). I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!! It's going to be a week long birthday celebration for me! And I'm also going to Denmark to attend Lam and Rasmus' wedding. EXCITING!!!!

Hiking

Did I mention that I went hiking on Sunday? Me, hiking?? Hey, I love nature! Just because I've never been camping before don't mean nothin'...and anyway, I plan on rectifying that by going camping this summer, so there! Okay, it is a bit sad that I've never been camping and I've lived up here for almost 10 years now...

Moving swiftly along, I went hiking with Frank. Now he's quite experienced with this kind of stuff...and there's me, a city lass that's never gone hiking before. Oh boy. We were in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area and apparently, there are a bunch of lakes up there (like the gorgeous Enchantment Lakes - even the name is lovely!). I survived but then again, it wasn't a very proper hike because there wasn't really a trail; we just followed the road in for about 3 miles. It was a shame that I had to be back by 5pm because it would've been really nice to have gone in further - and I feel kinda bad about cutting Frank's time up there short - sorry Frank! - and maybe have seen some lakes and some real scenery. Nonetheless, it was a really nice outing. The weather was warm and clear, the air was fresh, the birds were chirping away and I had my rose-coloured sunglasses on - ha. However, if I plan on doing more hiking and camping stuff, which I do, I'm going to need some proper hiking boots and something other than jeans to wear...

Helio

So I've been hearing a lot about this Helio don't-call-it-a-phone company, and it's all over Gizmodo as well, what with the Helio Ocean making a big splash (sorry, I couldn't resist) and all. Plus, I've also seen it on MySpace and its the commercials on TV - weird but memorable - so I decided to go check it out and see what all the hubbub was about.

It is cool.

The phones are relatively well-priced but it's not the devices that I'm liking; it's all the services that are included that are so awesome. Unlimited text/picture/video messaging and IM, MySpace Mobile, 3G and GPS-enabled Google Maps (very handy when the man gets lost and doesn't bother carrying a map in his car). Verrrra nice, no? I still have my heart set on getting the Sony Ericsson K790/K800 Cyber-shot phone (although its new S500 is also gooooorgeous!), but all this unlimited stuff (it's a helluva lot cheaper, too) may just tip me over to the Helio side...of course, I still need to wait until my contract with T-Mobile ends. Drat.

Cinco De Mayo

I spent most of Cinco de Mayo playing with Carol's bebehs at Ryan and Georgia's place. She's got two, Giovanni and Anthony, and they are just TOO cute!! They're also very well-behaved and y'know that baby smell toddlers have? Well, that was Giovanni, but times 10. Pictures below:

Giovanni and Darien, Georgia's cat.

Me and Anthony, who's a bit of a bobble head.

Since it was Cinco de Mayo, we'd all planned to go out for some drinks with Matt and his friend Tyler, but those plans went down the drain - damn flaky people. I took my little sister to dinner so was planning on joining up with Ryan, Georgia, Jr and Matt afterward for drinks but Tyler never called and I got tired of waiting so decided to call it a night. Jr had done my hair earlier and it looked SO bomb but since our plans fell through, my hair was a bit wasted. Since my hair was super clean, he had to spray a whole bunch of hairspray to keep it in place, so it's actually still a bit curly - it just looks more natural now.

It reminded us of Joss Stone's hair but her colouring is much, much sexier.

Sexy!

I'M GOING BACK TO THE UK!!!!

Yeah, that's right - I'm going to back to the UK!!! Not permanently, nor long-term in any sense sadly *sob*, but it's okay, I'll take what I can get right now, which is 7 days, 6 nights. WOO! I'M SO EXCITED!! I fly 23 May (the day after my birthday haha...oh gawd, I'm gonna be all still drunkish and tired on the plane!) and fly back 29 May. I can't wait!

(Oh yeah, this trip is mainly for Lam and Rasmus' wedding in Denmark. Woo!)

Jr's 25th Birthday Bash

For Jr's 25th birthday, he invited all his friends to the Tap House Grill for dinner and drinks. I think there was about 50 or so of us. After dinner, we went to R Place (of course) for some more drinks and lots of dancing.
